My Pastor, Tim Thompson, always says that at our church we
offer only Love and Truth according to the Gospel as it is written in the
Bible. I believe this to be true because from the first moment I walked through
the front door of the 60th Street Baptist Church sanctuary I felt a
flood of welcoming warmth and comfort like that of family greeting me after a
long separation. I’ll never forget that day last March because our music
director Br. Steve Smith was the first to stretch out his hand to greet me and
welcomed me into the flock of the small Missionary Baptist Church. Since that
day I have faithfully attended Sunday and Wednesday evening services and have
increasingly become involved in other church activities which I am thankful for
as I am ever growing in faith, in hope and in the peace and joy I feel knowing
that I will be lifted up to heaven when my last day comes. That warm fuzzy
feeling I had and still have in fellowship with my church family is the same
Love and Truth I desire to share with you, my potential Simply Katie’s and SK
Wire Jewelry customers.
And what I want you to know is that you are much more than
customers to me, you’re friends and family with viable concerns when
contemplating making any investment purchase. And artisan handcrafted jewelry
is as such, an investment to be passed down from generation to generation. My
work, my jewelry designs are a labor of love built on a solid foundation of generations
gifting love year round of the wares made with their loving hands and given
with their loving hearts. My sincere hope as an artisan jewelry designer and
small handcrafted business owner is that I meet and exceed your expectations in
providing you with the best possible customer service, quality of handcrafted
beaded gemstone and wire jewelry product, affordable artisan value, and making
sure that your Simply Katie’s and SK Wire Jewelry purchase makes it to your
door safely and on time.
My favorite designing experiences are the custom jewelry pieces
I’ve been requested to create over the years and those jewelry pieces I create
as personal gifts to those who have come to reside within my heart. Like the rose
quartz and pearl bracelet and earrings I made for Miss Sylvia, the lavender
pearl post earrings I made for Miss Jenny (who hasn’t yet taken them off) and
the white pearl and signature spiral wire earrings I gave to Ms. Sandy. Today I was wearing a beaded turquoise and copper
necklace and earrings that I made last year and my friend Ms. Elva said to me “You
always wear the most unusual jewelry, did you make that?” speaking of my
necklace in particular to which I replied “Yes I did, it’s unique isn’t it?”
She said to me “Honey, (she always calls me Honey) that’s what makes it so
beautiful.” She melted my heart right then and there to give welcome notice to
my design and offer such a wonderful compliment.
My new friend Dawn shared a story with me when she saw me
wearing a ring I recently created in fine silver using my new hot join
soldering skills, and I’m very excited to have been asked to make a custom
octagonal thumb ring for her. But wouldn’t you know I would have sold her the
ring right of my finger but when she tried to put it on, sadly it was just a
bit too small. That’s alright because it gives me the opportunity to practice
and create another SK Wire Jewelry custom made Fine Silver Octagonal Thumb ring
and a chance to gain word of mouth advertising from a happy customer when hers
is ready.
